Diffused

Most of what I read and could actually understand was the diffusion from many webs sites such as MySpace and Face Book. How they expanded faster than what the world actually thought they would. While reading I came across many different ideas such as, the study of Idea of diffusion how innovations spread through society, and the adoption of properties raising an unknown web site such as YouTube testing and turning it into a great establishment. i understand that innovation is the creation of something new, and diffusion is the wide spread of a product.

E-wastee! :(

I do not agree with our technology waste being taken to Ghana, or any other place just to harm them even more. Our developed country need to find a better way to recycle technology, and help out the non-developed countries. It’s a shame to watch them suffer, and be the cause of them suffering from lung cancer, kidney failure ext. Something needs to be done so that they can benefit like us, but without being harmed. Here is an important fact I came across while reading the article, “it is next to impossible to gauge how much e-waste is still being smuggled into China, diverted to other parts of Asia, or- increasingly- dumped in West African countries like Ghana, Nigeria, and Ivory Coast.”

This is a child home!

Digitize Me :)

I am honestly torn in between the two ideas. From one view of mines I think digitizing books is a great idea. It allows people with internet access to get a copy of a book they may need for a paper, project or just to read without leaving their house. I think that Google or any other company should charge for the service, just like in a store but be reasonable with the prices. From my other view I believe that books should be free just like in a library. Some people may not want to buy a book to keep; they may just want to borrow it. I’m not sure if Google give you an option of just reading a whole book online or not. If digitizing books to make a library online is the goal then Google should treat its readers as if they are in a library and not charge for a whole book.

inside my headd on weaving the web....

When I started reading weaving the web I didn’t really understand it. I was confused on who actually created and thought of creating the web. I was also confused on who created the first computer. As I kept reading I slowly started to understand. It seems as if creating the web took a lot of thinking and planning out, but as it developed over the years it was well worth it. In the back of my head I’m thinking berners-lee’s father really helped him to create the web also. If it wasn’t for him and his father having this conversation (“…I found my father working on a speech for Basil de Ferranti. He was reading books on the brain, looking for clues about how to make a computer intuitive, able to complete connections as the brain did. We discussed the point ;…”) it would have never been a thought in his head. I appreciate berners-Lee, and his colleagues creating the World Wide Web, because without it I wouldn’t be able to connect with my family and friends that doesn’t live around me.

My Life, Hopes, and Dreams

Growing up I wasn’t able to get everything I wanted. We weren’t the rich family. We lived off of Medicare and food stamps. I had to watch my mom struggle every day to take care of me, my sister, and two brothers alone with just one person to depend on (my great grandma Mary). My great grandma was the only person who told me to go after all my dreams no matter what the cost was. She died when I was 7 and I took it the hardest.
Since her death I have been trying everyday to go after my dreams. I have had BIG dreams throughout the seventeen years of my life. One day I wanted to be a lawyer the next I wanted to be a doctor, veterinarian, and ext... Seeing my niece born is what really inspired me to want to become a Neonatal Nurse. The job looked really interesting to me as I watched the nurses clean her off and wash her hair. I knew that is what I wanted to do when I got older. I have also always taken interest in photography. I love taking pictures. Everybody that knows me say I’m very photogenic. I always have a camera with me everywhere I go.
I grew up watching my little brother and cousins, and babysitting. I love being around kids even though sometimes they give me headaches. I have worked for the past three summers with east side story, and I have also worked at northwest Seton hospital, and Dells Children Medical Center. You can say I have had a little bit of experience in dealing with children.
Now that I am in high school I haven’t been able to take classes that would help me become a doctor. I am too involved in activities such as being a cheerleader, being on the step team, and being an athletic trainer. After high school I haven’t decided rather I want to take a year off and go to ACC or go straight to college. If I take the ACC route I plan on transferring to Texas State University, University Of Houston, Prairie View,
UTA or UTSA. My major is going to be in nursing, and my minor is going to be in photography. For now those are my dreams, but I do have many more in store for my great future. I am getting older, wiser, and looking forward. I’ve learned from my past mistakes, many lessons learned and many lessons to gain. I also plan to travel the United States and the world when I graduate from college.
